On November 9, 2023, Just Event Online Publications, an influential online media outlet based in Ilorin, Kwara State, marked its 7th Anniversary with significant announcements that reflect a new chapter in its journey.
Founder Aiyelabegan Babatunde AbdulRasaq, in a press release, affirmed the media house’s unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality information and fostering community development through diverse initiatives.
The announcement highlighted the appointment of Kehinde AbdulRasaq, a University of Ilorin graduate in Counsellor Education, as the Managing Director of Just Event Online.
Additionally, Hanifat Ismail, a Mass Communication degree holder from the National Open University of Nigeria, was appointed as the Head of News and Current Affairs and Welfare Director.
According to the statement, since inception in 2016, Just Event Online has been a trailblazer in digital journalism, setting new standards and making remarkable strides.
The statement also boasted that the media house has evolved into a prominent source of information, covering a wide spectrum of topics, from events and social activities to current news, programs, elections, and trending issues.
Founder Aiyelabegan reiterated the media house’s commitment to education and community welfare, highlighting their active involvement in organizing free summer lessons that resulted in over 60 students being awarded full scholarships.
The press release emphasized the importance of qualified individuals leading various departments within the media house.
Aiyelabegan, thereby, announced Kehinde AbdulRasaq, as the Managing Director, will also serve as the chief editor of videos and pictures. Stating that Hanifat Ismail, in her role, will head the News department while overseeing welfare matters at Just Event Online.
“Other key appointments include Isiaka Rasheed, an HND holder in Accountancy from Kwara State Polytechnics, Ilorin, leading the organization’s foundation with support from Fatimah Seriki, a Mass Communication graduate from Kwara State University, Malete. Isiaq Abdulqadir, a graduate of History and International Studies from the University of Ilorin, will co-head the Programs department alongside Isiaka Rasheed” Aiyelabegan said.
He added that Hanifat Ismail and Fatimah Seriki will be overseeing the SIWES (Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme) students.
Aiyelabegan congratulated all members of Just Event Online and emphasized the importance of upholding ethical standards in journalism.
