In a bid to enhance community development and empower young leaders, the youth development associations in Kwara Central are gearing up for a transformative two-day mentorship training program.
The initiative, organized by the Office of the Special Technical Adviser to Senator Saliu Mustapha on Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, and Job Creation, is set to take place in different batches.
Mallam Nasir Abdulqyadri, the brains behind the program, emphasized that the training is non-pecuniary and aims to build the capacities of youth leaders across the four local government areas in Kwara Central.
The organizers have strategically arranged the training in batches to ensure optimal participation for every youth leader.
The first session, scheduled for November 13th and 14th in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara state, targets Presidents and executives of the participating youth development associations.
The invitation, signed by Technical Adviser Mallam Nasir Abdulquadri, outlined the program’s objective to enhance the intellectual and leadership capabilities of youth-focused organization leaders.
Abdulquadri highlighted the focus areas of the training, which include security, community relations, communications, mentoring, and needs assessment. Stating that the aim is to equip the youth leaders with the necessary skills to contribute positively to community development and governance processes.
The letter addressed to the development associations stressed the importance of collective capacity building for driving positive change in Kwara Central.
Abdulquadir expressed confidence that the active involvement of the associations would greatly enrich the experience and success of the event.
In conclusion, Abdulquadir urged the youth leaders to attend the impactful training in person, emphasizing that proxy attendance is not allowed.
