NAKSS National Headquarters set to begin transition processes. This is a caption deducted from The Informant247’s interview with the Senate President of the Association in person of Muhammad Nurudeen Muhammad, A student of Umaru Musa Yaradua University, Katsina
~Can we meet you sir?
I am Muhammad Nuradeen Muhammad a final year student of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University Katsina and the Senate president of National association of Kwara state students national headquarters.
~What is the state of the union(NAKSS)?
Currently the ongoing bursary disbursement is almost coming to an end Having paid the final year students of about 10 schools within the state out of the 11 schools captured excluding private institutions.the remaining school to be paid within the state is only Kwara state university malete of which we hope the schirlaship board will be going there next week..
~What about the school outside the state that are yet to benefit from the ongoing bursary disbursement?
Honestly this is giving me much headache because I received many letters from both the southwest and northern axis that they didn’t want to be marginalized and we have since been tendering this issue to the state government through the S. A labour and students comrade Bisi Fakayode and we had opportunity of leading one of the south west structure to the state house when they came for their annual excursion and the Chief of staff responded well that census is going on those schools outside the state and they will equally benefits from the exercise the same thing we did with the leadership of the entire Nakss northern axis after receiving many letters from them concerning the same issue.so we are hope full that very soon and before the end of this administration something will be done about it.
~When is the next Nakss national convention coming up?
Yes!as we all know this administration supposed to have come to end ever before now but luckily and unfortunately the government responded well by approving the bursary fund(100,000,000) for the Kwara state students after serious negotiation infact without minding the way the funds are handled in the past all this happen when the administration almost came to an end, considering the long way we come and the challenges attributed to bursary disbursement we believe starting transition at that moment will bring chaos and that made us to summon a Senate sitting at college of education ILORIN where mottion was raised for the administration to wait and see to the said bursary disbursement.but now that the disbursement is almost coming to end and as I believe the schools outside the state if considered on time will not take much time but by God’s grace TRANSITION PROCESSES will commence properly next month because I have since consulted the executive council as well as the judicial council on the transition.
~What are you doing to ensure credible,free and fair credible election?
You see the only way we can protect the integrity of the association is to ensure any administration emerge through free,fair and credible election. I know our mandate was respected by our constituencies because the election that produces us is one of the most credible election in the history of the organization,even though along the way we had cracks in the leadership but today we thank God we recorded many success with the help of the S. A labour and students we worked with,the Chief of staff to the governor including security agencies.so in a nutshell we would never compromise having credible election inrespect of the interests of the Nakss family…we would ensure the electoral body are of good character and integrity,we would make sure the necessary law quarters observe the election and massive security will be deployed.
~What can you say about the state government as regards to students Welfare and the current Nakss National body administration?
Honestly I described the administration of Kwara state government led by Alh.Abdul Fatah maigida as students loving administration as his excellency the executive governor always leave his door open to students and considering what he has done for the students during our administration ,moreovee one admiring attitude of the governor is that he prefer round table resolutions and that is why no riot was recorded during our administration and no single life was lost.
~The Senate president sir, I know you have been Nakss National senator for long before you became Senate president, please when are you graduating???
Smiles. Yeah! I have been Nakss senator since my hundred level in University aND by God’s grace I will be graduating this year December
~Lastly what is your message to the entire Nakssites.
I urge every Kwara state students to be up and doing in their academics,to be law abiding, respect and obey their parents while I will equally urge the aspirants for the next election not to handle their campaign and the electioneering process as do or die affair because it is either one loose or win, from our edge we promised not to compromise having free, fair and credible election.let me also use this opportunity to appreciate office of the social director and the executive council for putting heads together towards organizing national Nakss week 2017 that will come up next month which features sporting activities,peace and security summit,comradeship night e. t. c I know the program if properly planned will unite the entire Nakss family.Lastly we appreciate our local chapters for standing by the administration we say thank you.
