In an effort to consolidate its relationship with the Kwara State University, Moro Local Government has on Wednesday, 9th September, 2020 donated a facility to the institution.
The facility, which is yet to reach hundred percent completion is sited along Malete road.
The Deputy vice Chancellor Administration, Professor Omololu Fapojuwo led a high powered delegation, carefully selected by the Vice Chancellor, to the Local Government Headquarters in Bode Saadu, for the formalisation of the hand over process.
The Council’s Director of Personnel Management, Mr. Amuda A. Musbau welcomed the delegation and expressed his appreciation for the robust relationship that exists between the university and the host community.
The DPM, however, stressed the Local Government’s intent to always contribute to the development of the citadel and reiterated the council’s readiness to donate more facilities to the school when the need arises. He also stated that inspite of the Local Government’s laudable plan for the erection of a befitting facility for the University, the challenges posed by Covid 19 in recent times has not made this realizable.
The council’s three-man Technical Committee reached a consonance to work with the Technical committee instituted by KWASU management in a bid to ensure speedy completion of the project.
An official presentation of the facility to KWASU was done through the symbolic presentation of the facility keys to the leader of KWASU delegation, Professor Fapojuwo. Mr. Musbau further thanked the delegation for accepting their ‘widow’s mite’.
In his reaction, Professor Fapojuwo expressed his unalloyed gratitude to the council, for finding KWASU worthy of such benevolent gesture and gave assurance that the Local Government council will be proud of this institution, as KWASU is resolved to put it into worth and profitable use for the good of the community and the state as a whole.
He also reiterated the university’s determination not to renege on its resolve to contribute to the growth of the Local Government in fulfillment of its mantra as a university for community development.
Members of the university delegation present at the occasion include: Professor Omololu Fapojuwo (DVC, Admin); Professor Kajogbola R. Ajao, Director, Centre for Sustainable Energy; Arc. Salihu Y. Suleiman, Director, Physical Planning Unit; Mr. AbdulRazaq Sanni, Director, University Relations.
Others are: Engr. Wahab Ayinla, Director, Works and Dr. Wasiu Mope Isiaka, Director, Centre for Distance and e-Learning.
