Man Utd wins first trophy in six years

First half goals from Casemiro and an own goal from Sven Botman was all Manchester United needed to edge Newcastle to win the Carabao Cup on Sunday.

The victory is the first and major success of the Red devils under their new Manager, Erik Ten Hag who took over at the beginning of the season.

United had not won silverware since 2017 and the EFL title have now also ended their longest trophy drought in 40 years.

However, It was also a disappointing moment for Newcastle who lost to the opponent with the same scoreline in the 1999 FA Cup encounter.

Ten Hag in his first ever trip to Wembley stadium also joined Jose Mourinho as the only United managers to win a major trophy in their first season.
