‘Man of many accomplishments’: Saliu Mustapha mourns Umar Saro

Saliu Mustapha, All Progressive Congress chieftain in Kwara State, has expressed condolences over the passage of an Ilorin-born billionaire industrialist and philanthropist, Alh. Aminu Umar Saro, CFR.

Saliu, who is also the founder of Saliu Mustapha Foundation, in his condolence message on Monday, sympathized with the Emir of Ilorin, the deceased’s immediate family and people of Kwara state.

He described Saro’s death ‘as one that would be sourly felt across the nooks and crannies of the nation’.

“I’m deeply saddened by the news of the passing away of Alh. Aminu Umar Saro, the Sardauna Ilorin. He was an extremely able, loyal and talented man whose exemplary life is worthy of emulation in all ramifications,” he said.

He prayed to Allah to repose the soul of the deceased, overlook his shortcomings and grant him Al-janat Fridaous.

The deceased was until his death the Sardauna of Ilorin.

According to family sources, he died on Sunday after a brief illness.
