The Kulende community of Ilorin South Local Government Area has applauded the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari for setting up a committe of Magaji and Alanguas to intervene in the community’s land crisis.
The Chairman of the Association, Suleiman Jaiyeola while addressing newsmen in Ilorin shortly after meeting with the traditional heads under the aegis of Magaji/Alangua Forum, said, “We appreciates our father and mentor, His Royal Highness,the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari for seeing the need to intervene in this issue, his intervention would go a long way in calming the situation and refrain both parties from taking law into our hands.
“We equally appreciate the committee delegated by the Emir under the aegis of Alangua and Magaji Forum who critically listened to the both parties and thereafter made a bold decision. We hope that the other party will stay away from the property and join hand with the Association in moving the community forward as advised by the Emir of Ilorin.”
On his part, the secretary, Abduqodri Issa said, “we thank the Security Agencies, the Police Commissioner and the D.P.O. of “E” Division Kulende in particular for standing by the Community during the crisis. We’ll continue to ensure smooth relationship with the security apparatus in the state.”
Recall that members of Kulende community in Ilorin South Local Government Area protested the alleged indiscriminate sale of the community’s land by their traditional head, Alhaji Mohammed Adesina.
