Kwara govt approves 2025 promotion for civil servants, 2024

…Financial benefits take effect from September 1

The Kwara State Government has approved the implementation of the 2025 promotion for workers in the mainstream civil service, as well as the 2024 and 2025 promotions for employees of government agencies, parastatals and media houses.

The approvals take effect from September 1, 2026, according to a memo issued by the Acting Head of Service, Dr. Olufunke Mercy Shittu.

Shittu said the approval followed the completion of the necessary processes by the State Civil Service Commission and the affected establishments, including the assessment of their financial implications.

She said the 2025 promotion for workers in the mainstream civil service had been approved, with the associated financial benefits to be drawn with effect from September 1, 2026.

Similarly, she said the government approved the implementation of the 2024 and 2025 promotion exercises for workers in agencies, parastatals and media houses following the conclusion of the required processes.

The Acting Head of Service said the approvals were part of measures by the administration to improve workers’ welfare and career progression within the state public service.

She added that implementing the promotions would motivate workers, enhance productivity and strengthen career development.

Shittu appreciated the state government for its continued commitment to workers’ welfare and career development.
