The Police Command in Lagos State has confirmed the arrest of two suspected fraudsters, over alleged attempt to defraud a woman N600,000.
The N600,000 fraud came after the suspects already duped the victim of N90,000.
The spokesperson of the police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has confirmed the development in a post through his verified Twitter handle monitored by The Informant247 on Saturday.
He disclosed the identities of the suspects as a 45-year-old Uche Awaize and a 35-year-old Osadebe Aigbe.
He added that the suspects were apprehended on Friday at the gate of a bank where they were waiting to withdraw the money.
“Yesterday at about 3:50 p.m., a bank cashier noticed that a 64-year old customer was fidgety, receiving repeated calls and was in a hurry to withdraw N600,000.
“The cashier asked what the problem was and the woman said she would die if she talked.
“Police officers from Ogudu Division were quickly contacted.
“Of the three fraudsters waiting outside, two were arrested while the third suspect bolted.” he said.
Hundeyin also said that earlier Police investigation has indicated that the suspects had earlier received N90,000 from the victim of fraud.
He added that there’s ongoing effort to apprehend other member of the gang.
