APC chairmanship: Group holds ‘special prayer’ for Saliu Mustapha, Oyabambi hails Saliu Mustapha’s appointment as Turaki of Ilorin

Residents of Kongbari area in Okelele, Ilorin, have applauded the All Progressives Congress(APC) Kwara Central senatorial district candidate, Mallam Salihu Mustapha, for his philanthropic gestures and immeasurable impact on the community.

It would be recalled that the Turaki of Ilorin approved the construction of public toilets at Kongbari in his bid to eradicate open defecation, which has been affecting their lives and livelihoods for too long.

Speaking to TheInformant247 correspondent over the weekend, residents of Kongbari noted that the public toilets will go a long way in ameliorating their suffering.

The construction, which is being done at two different locations of Ogun Oko and Onilu compounds in Kongbari has two rooms each that will be repleted with modern facilities.

” Mallam Saliu Mustapha came to our rescue when we sent him a request for the provision of public toilets, which he is now building. “We are very happy and grateful to him for helping us out. He is indeed a philanthropist,” said Jimoh Jenrade, one of the dwellers in the community.

Noting that he is Alaanu Mekunu (the helper of the less privileged ), he added that Mallam Mustapha, apart from the construction of the toilets, has also repaired the water tank of the community with the promise to provide one more tank for sufficiency.

The Chairman of Bashiri Kongbari, Alhaji Abdulkarimu said the rehabilitation of the water tank, which got spoiled over a year ago, has brought succour to the community, especially for worshippers who prayed at the mosque nearest to the tank during the last Ramadan.

“Words cannot express how happy we are, but the only thing we can do is to pray for him. May Almighty Allah grants him all his heart desires, we are also looking forward to visiting him”. Abdulkarimu said.

Also in furtherance of his philanthropic gesture, the residents of Ita-adu in Amule Gambari, Barbara Zone, have also expressed their appreciation to Saliu Mustapha for repairing their transformer that has been abandoned for over 3 months, leaving the community in darkness.

One of the stakeholders in Ita-Adu, Alhaji Mumini Amulelola, recalled how Turaki directed immediate repair of the transformer, which developed a fault after some of its parts were stolen.

“We were only advised to write a letter to him(Turaki) and he responded by mobilizing electricity workers down to our area to repair the transformer. “God will enrich him abundantly and bless his family”. He concluded.
