The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has sent message of advice to the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the Federal Government to put an end to the lingering strike.
The Informant247 observes that the industrial strike by the academic staff in Nigerian public universities began on February 14.
Rev. Daniel Okoh, the CAN President, has informed the Buhari led federal government and ASUU about the consequences of allowing youths to remain at home.
The president made this revelation at an interdenominational church service in commemoration of the 62nd Independence Day at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja.
“I call on the Federal Government to do all that is necessary so that these youths will go back to the universities and engage with their studies.
“It often said that idle minds are the devil’s workshop, idle lips are his mouthpiece,” he warned.
The cleric also called on Nigerians to participate in the forthcoming 2023 general elections next year.
The president of the Christian organization has told qualified citizens to get their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) and make sure they cast their votes.
