Hundreds of Boko Haram members have reportedly ran from Gaftari village to a new settlement in Bazamri, near Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, in the northeastern zone of Nigeria.
Gaftari village is situated between Bama and Konduga local government areas of Borno State where operations of the military had bastardized the reign of terror of the Boko Haram terrorists recently.
The two local government areas are around a distance of 35km and 60km away from the Borno State capital, Maiduguri.
Security sources revealed that over 400 members, fighters and relations of the Boko Haram on Sunday night moved to Bazamri after a massive attack on them by troops of Operation Hadin Kai of the Nigerian Army.
Zagalola Makama, an anti-insurgency’ expert, informed newsmen last week that over 70 of the fighters of Boko Haram were drowned in a river, after serious airstrikes of the military in Gaftari and Shehuri, two villages situated between Bama and Konduga.
According to information gathered, the remaining Boko Haram fighters, and their families, were forced to nice to a new location at Bazamri, shortly after they buried more than 40 drowned members.
They reportedly drowned in the river while attempting to escape airstrikes, as most of them had already sustained various degrees of injuries that were difficult to survive.
“They relocated to Bazamari, a bush located east of Konduga.
“They moved with their families numbering about 400 after admitting that they were defeated by the Nigerian Army,” a source with credible information told newsmen.
