An Inspector of Police, Augustine Ukaegbu has been killed in Umuoshike Ogbor, Aboh-Mbaise LGA of Imo State.
Report has it that the gunmen killed the police officer who had gone to his home town, Umuoshike Ogbor, for Easter celebration with his relations.
A source in the community who spoke as an anonymous said the gunmen at first kidnapped the police officer and he was later recovered dead.
The source said: “He was serving at the Orji divisional police headquarters. He only went home to celebrate Easter and the unfortunate incident happened.”
“Around 11pm on April 8, some gunmen riding in a Lexus jeep drove into his house and kidnapped him.
“Later on, the jeep they came with to kidnap him was found along Mbutu road in Aboh-Mbaise. When the police in the area visited the scene and searched through the bush, his lifeless body was found.”
The community source said the victim’s dead body was moved to the mortuary by the security agents.
The source also added the Jeep has been recovered and kept in custody.
Gunmen kill APC leader in Delta, police arrest 3 suspects
Gunmen suspected to be assassins have reportedly killed a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sylvester Efeurhobo in Delta State.
The assailants stormed the victim’s residence in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area of the State and gunned him down earlier today Tuesday April 11.
The Informant247 gathered that the victim was a chairman of an APC support group known as the Achievers Group in Agbarho.
While addressing newsmen, those residing in the area described the deceased politician as “a dedicated party faithful, a brother and father, generous to the bone”.
There’s currently tension in the affected community as party loyalists demanded the security agents, especially the police to “fish out the hooligans and ensure that justice takes its due course in the matter”.
“The perpetrators should be brought to book, as we do mourn the deceased.”
The spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Bright Edafe, has confirmed the incident to newsmen.
He said three suspects were arrested in connection with the killing and that investigation was ongoing.
“Confirmed, we are still investigating. So far, three suspects have been arrested.”
Suspected bandits kill UBA staff member in Taraba
Suspected bandits have killed a staff member of United Bank for Africa, UBA, Daniel Nwunuji in Taraba State.
The gunmen reportedly stormed his house in Mbiya in Takum Local Government Area of the state on Saturday April 8 and gunned him down.
Details about the incident are still sketchy at the time of producing this report.
The victim was buried on Sunday April 9, 2023.
Friends, relations and colleagues of the victim have taken to social media, Facebook to mourn him.
Bandits kill 2 men after collecting N2m ransom in Sokoto
Two young men have lost their lives to the cruelty of bandits, after the sum of N2m ransom been collected by the said bandits in Sokoto.
Ibrahim Abubakar Rabah, a POS operator who finished from Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, and two other persons, Ummaru Ahmad and Mustapha Muhammad Rabah were kidnapped over a month ago in Rabah Local Government Area of the state.
Relations and friends confirmed the incident on Facebook.
They disclosed that the bandits killed Mustapha and Ibrahim after collecting the sum of N2m ransom.
While confirming the occurrence, one Usama Lawal Rabah said the bandits shot Ummaru, and he’s currently receiving medical care in Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto.
