The Flying Eagles rounded up their preparations for the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations on a big note when they thrashed Moroccan club, Kawkab Athletic 6-1 in a friendly match played on Wednesday
The match held at the Complexe Sportif, Sidi Mohammed, Ain Sebaa in Casablanca where the team is having their last time preparation.
Kawkab Athletic became a last minute replacement for Central African Republic, who pulled out of a friendly with the Nigerian team on Tuesday night.
The Flying Eagles took the game so early when Mohammed Aminu fired the Ladan Bosso’s boys to the lead. And while he would later hit his brace in the 17th minute, Samson Lawal increased the tally three minutes to the half-hour mark.
Kawkab Athletic reduced the deficit nine minutes before the break but Emmanuel Uchegbu, Augustine Njoku and Jonathan Nicholas scored the other goals to ensure that the total dominance of the Flying Eagles in yet another interesting game.
Flying Eagles are seven-time African champions of the U-20 tournament and they have been drawn against Senegal, Mozambique and Egypt in the group A of the tournament.
The team will depart for Cairo, Egypt on Thursday as they set sights on their first game against Senegal on Sunday
