Fire razed the Mater Foam Industry, Obosi close to St. Albert Catholic Church, Obosi, Anambra, on Saturday.
The incident has been confirmed in a signed statement released by Mr Martin Agbili, the Director/Fire Chief of Anambra Fire Service, .
The statement revealed that the fire service received information about the fire incident around 6.15 a.m. on Saturday.
“We immediately deployed our three fire trucks and our ever ready and fearless firefighters to the fire scene.
“We went into action, controlled and fought the fire to a standstill,” he said.
The fire service boss said that the cause of the incident has not been ascertained.
The fire service chief added that they were able to save many items from being consumed by the inferno and the fire from getting to nearby buildings.
He revealed that the fire service had a successful operation as no one died.
He has said the people need to know that “we are at the peak of the harmattan season and should avoid anything which can cause a fire outbreak at this period.”
He implored residents to turn off all electrical and electronic appliances when they are not in use.
