The former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has taken swipe at the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, over his performance in the February 25, 2023 presidential election.
The former Governor criticised the former vice president over his actions before the election day.
He made this revelation while granting a television interview on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.
He said the presidential candidate was not prepared to win the presidential election.
He said Atiku turned down many demands put before him and the national leadership of the party before the presidential election.
He said the presidential candidate, Atiku and the national Chairman of the party, Iyorcha Ayu ignored the demands of the five aggrieved governors of the party otherwise known as the G5.
He said the Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, betrayed the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, during the party’s primary elections.
He said the nonchalant reaction of the party to the demands of the aggrieved members of the party led to the defection of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi and the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
