The name of the leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa is missing in the list of winners of the just concluded elections released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The Informant247 recalls that the electoral commission had announced Doguwa as the victor of the February 25 election in the Doguwa/Tudunwada constituency.
Professor Ibrahim Adamu Yakasaim the returning officer revealed that Doguwa who contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gathered 39,732 votes to conquer Yushau Salisu Abdullahi, the candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) who secured 34,798 votes.
Doguwa’s name was no where to be found in the newly released list of members elected.
The electoral umpire said he was earlier declared the winner of the election under duress.
The Informant247 also recalls that the police arrested Doguwa over his alleged involvement in the killings of many persons and the raze of the secretariat of the NNPP.
However he denied his involvement and falsified the allegation leveled against him.
Police disclosed that at least 3 persons lost their lives while the campaign secretariat of the NNPP in Tudunwada was set on fire as 2 persons got burnt to death.
He was thereafter dragged before a magistrate’s court on the charges of arson, unlawful possession of firearms and murder.
He was remanded in prison and was admitted to N500 million bail.
A Kano federal high court stopped him from appearing in his constituency for the forthcoming gubernatorial and state assembly elections.
