The presidency has reacted to the arrest of a former presidential aspirant and Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore by the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) ahead of his planned protest scheduled for Monday, August 5.
The Villa today revealed that the state security arrested Sowore to protect him from “setting himself ablaze”
The president’s aide on Social Media matters, Lauretta Onochie made this known on the microblogging site, Twitter while responding to a Tweet on Saturday.
“This is What DSS Saved Sowore from. (See image). With talks about setting himself ablaze, it’s in order for the security operatives, whose role it is to safeguard both lives and properties, to take him into custody to prevent him from harming himself and get him the help he needs.”
Recall that Sowore, the convener of #RevolutionNow Protests was on Saturday morning arrested by the DSS operatives in his residence.
