Daddy Freeze slams Brymo for his anti-Igbo comments

Daddy Freeze, a well-known figure in the media, has spoken out against the anti-Igbo remarks made by Nigerian artist Olawale Ashimi, better known by his stage name Brymo.

The musician, who has opposed Peter Obi’s bid for the presidency as the Labour Party’s standard bearer, has recently come under criticism for saying that an Igbo administration is a “pipe dream” due to the push for Biafra.

“As long as there (are) talks by prominent people from Igboland about Biafra, an Igbo presidency will be a pipe dream,” he had tweeted.

Brymo, unfazed by the huge criticism his tweets provoked, lashed out against Igbos again on Sunday: ‘Fck The Ndi Igbo !! .. To Hll With It!!”

Brymo has not wavered from his position and has said he is not apologetic for his words that have been labeled “anti-Igbo,” despite the response he has received from other celebrities and fans.
On Wednesday, when news of the incident began to spread, Daddy Freeze posted to Instagram, urging Brymo to apologize to the Igbos, or to face implications.

He says: “Dear Brymo, I respect you. Don’t throw that respect down the drain. I know you have the right to an opinion. However, this isn’t an opinion, this is ‘H8’ speech and will cost you your fans and followers. I would recommend an apology to the igbos.”
