Nollywood bigwigs, Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham were among the top winners at the just concluded seventh edition of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards held on Saturday at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Akindele won the award for ‘Best Actress in a Comedy (Movie/TV Series)’ for her performance in ‘Mums at War’, while Abraham emerged winner in the ‘Best Actress in a Drama (Movie/TV Series)’ category for her role in the movie, ‘Elevator Baby’.
The Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) is an annual award ceremony aimed at celebrating movie stars and their works in the film and television industry.
The 7th edition – which was held on March 14, 2020 – was graced by African celebrities such as Adesua Etomi Wellington, Mercy Eke, Funke Akindele-Bello, Beverly Naya, Toyin Abraham, Denola Grey, Sharon Ooja, Toke Makinwa and host of others. The event was hosted by Amina Abdi Rabar and I.K Osakioduwa with the red carpet done by Toke Makinwa and Ebuka Obi.
Awards were presented to some movies industrialist to celebrate their accomplishment in the industry.
