Ahead of Christmas and New Year season, the Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority and the Federal Road Safety Corps, Kwara Sector Command will collaborate to ensure the security and safety of road users.
According to a statement issued by KWARTMA spokesperson, RTO Omotayo Taofiq, on Wednesday, the decision for the joint operation was reached during a visit of the Sector Commander of FRSC, Mr JA Owoade, to the KWARTMA chief in his office in Ilorin, the state capital.
The Sector Commander explained that the two agencies would collaborate in terms of personnel and logistics in order to ensure a crash free yuletide period.
For his part, the Chief Executive Officer of KWARTMA, Alh Yekeen Bello assured the Sector Commander that the Agency is ever ready to combat the challenges of traffic gridlock, road encroachment, rescue and emergency operations on the roads.
He assured the Sector Commander that the two agencies would work together and would also seek for the cooperation of members of the public in obeying traffic rules and regulations and also to help traffic officers by always following their directives on the road.
