President Muhammadu Buhari has commented on an Abuja Federal High Court judgement which reinstated Senator Ifeanyi Ararume as the non-executive Chairman of Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
The Informant247 recalls that Ararume was on Tuesday April 18, 2023 restored to his position, while in addition, the federal high court awarded him compensation of the sum of N5bn.
In a statement released on Wednesday April 19, 2023, the president called for due judicial process on the former federal lawmaker and issues surrounding NNPCL.
Buhari assured members of the public of due judicial process, affirming that the NNPCL was ready to appeal the judgment.
The Informant247 learned that the formal copy of the court judgment has not reached the office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.
Buhari said: “The Administration respects the Rule of Law, and nothing will be done outside it to resolve the matter.”
The president called for calm and order from all concerned stakeholders and authorities.
Buhari lands in Abuja after 8-day official trip to Saudi Arabia
President Muhammadu Buhari has landed in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria after spending eight official days in Saudi Arabia.
The president also made use of the official visit to the Saudi Arabia, to perform lesser Hajj, Umrah.
Security agencies, presidential aides and government functionaries received the president at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja.
The Informant247 learned that the president on Wednesday April 19, 2023 left Saudi Arabia for Nigeria through King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The traditional and spiritual leaders, and officials of Saudi Arabia and senior officers of the Nigerian Embassy in SA accompanied the Nigerian president to the airport to bid him farewell.
Buhari successfully carried out his Umrah rituals in SA
The Informant247 recalls that the president paid a visit to some historic locations in Madinah last week Tuesday.
He thereafter traveled to Makkah from there for Umrah.
