President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed condolences over the death of Lt. General Oladipo Diya, the Chief of General Staff 1993-1997.
The president’s condolence message was conveyed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina in a statement released on Sunday March 26.
Adesina said the president paid tribute to the Vice Chairman of the Provisional Ruling Council in 1994 for his boldness and courage and for serving the country in various leadership capacities.
The president commended Diya for his discipline, exceptional leadership skills and brilliance.
He also hailed the former general for his passion, love and support for his country.
The president extended his condolence message to the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased.
The president prayed for the peaceful rest of the deceased’s soul and wished that his contribution to the development of the country should not be forgotten.
