Bala Mohammed, the Bauchi State Governor, on Tuesday, dissolved all the 20 Local Government Caretaker Committees in the state, with immediate effect.
The governor’s directive was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ibrahim Muhammad Kashim and made available to journalists.
It could be recalled that the caretaker committees for the 20 LGAs were only inaugurated in 2022, following the expiration of the tenure of the elected council heads.
The statement added that the Governor also directed the Chairmen of the Local Government Caretaker Committees to hand over the affairs of the local governments to their respective Heads of Administration pending the appointment of substantive caretaker committees.
