2027: Omo Akogun submits APC nomination form for Share/Oke-Ode constituency

…begins ward tour ahead of race

An aspirant for the Kwara State House of Assembly, Abdulrasheed Akogun, popularly known as ‘OMO AKOGUN’, has officially submitted his completed nomination form to contest for the Share/Oke-Ode State Constituency seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Akogun described the move as a major step towards actualising his ambition to represent the constituency at the state legislature, saying his aspiration is rooted in service, sacrifice, and commitment to the people.

In a statement on Friday, the aspirant said his decision to join the race was not driven by personal glory or political relevance, but by the need to provide purposeful and people-oriented representation for the constituency.

“This aspiration is not driven by personal glory, political vanity, or the hunger for the title of ‘Honourable.’ Rather, it is borne out of a deep sense of responsibility and an unshakable conviction that our constituency deserves purposeful and proactive representation,” he said.

Akogun noted that communities across the 10 wards of Share/Oke-Ode Constituency in Ifelodun Local Government Area have continued to yearn for accessible, responsive, and result-oriented leadership.

According to him, issues such as youth empowerment, education, infrastructure, economic development, and social inclusion require practical solutions and effective representation at the state assembly.

He stated that the challenges confronting the constituency demand experience, strategic engagement, strong networks, and a leader willing to listen to the people.

The APC aspirant added that he had spent the last five years engaging with residents across communities to understand their concerns and development needs.

Akogun expressed confidence that the 2027 election presents an opportunity for the constituency to embrace a new era of representation anchored on accountability, competence, and integrity.

He also called on party members, stakeholders, and constituents to support his aspiration, pledging to prioritise the interests of the constituency if elected.

The aspirant is expected to commence a ward tour across the constituency as part of consultations and grassroots engagement ahead of the party’s primary election.
