The House of Representatives at plenary on Tuesday, passed for second reading, a bill seeking to amend the 1999 Constitution to allow creation of state police and legalise regional security outfits. The current police system will be decentralised by moving police from the Exclusive Legislative List to the Concurrent List. The All Progressives Congress (APC), on Tuesday, approved the continuation of the Party’s membership registration, revalidation and register update excercise in Imo, Kwara, Ogun and Rivers states. The Kwara State High Court, Ilorin has sentenced a 20-year-old boy, Oke Gideon, to 30 days imprisonment for his involvement in internet fraud. Justice Mahmood Abdulgafar on Monday made the judgment having found him guilty of offences bordering on romance scam and internet fraud. Gideon was arrested on May 4, 2021 by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ilorin Zonal Office, following the intelligence reports on his nefarious activities.
