ASKOMP applauds members’ supports, lifts ban on govt, police coverage

The Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) has appreciated the commitment, dedication, and backing of members during the #FreeAkoguns agitation.

ASKOMP in a statement released, Saturday by Shola Salihu Taofeek, its Chairman, commended and thanked other citizens of Kwara and media associates who lent their voices to the emancipation of free press in the state by standing against harassment and intimidation of Abdulrasheed Akogun and Dare Akogun.

The Association, has therefore, removed its ban on Kwara State Government and Kwara State Police Command during the agitation.

ASKOMP has pledged continue to stand by and support Abdulrasheed Akogun and Dare Akogun as legal process is ongoing on the alleged defamation of character cooked against the two brothers (journalists) by Rafiu Ajakaye, the Chief Press Secretary to Kwara Governor.

ASKOMP also declared its readiness to witness the action of the Police on a petition provided the law enforcement agency against four persons who included Kwara State Governor’s Aide who defamed the noble association.
