The Police Command in Zamfara State has secured the release of ten abducted women and a one-year-old child from the den of bandits’ in Gando forest of Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Mr. Kolo Yusuf, the Commissioner of Police, revealed that the operatives if the police were able to secure their release after conducting an extensive security search on Gando forest in Bukkuyum Local Government Area of the State.
“On Monday, 17th October, 2022 , a group of bandits invaded Manye village in Anka Local Government Area and abducted ten women and a one-year-old child to Gando forest in Bukkuyum Local Government Area of the State where they spent three days in captivity.
“On receiving the report, the Commissioner of Police deployed additional Police Tactical operatives to reinforce DPO Anka and vigilante in their rescue operation, a task that was successfully accomplished with the full support of stakeholders, especially the Sole Administrator of Anka Local Government Area.
“All the rescued victims were taken to the hospital for medical check, debriefed by Police detectives and handed over their families,” the police said in a statement.
The CP, while appreciating the sole Administrator of Anka Local Government Area for the full backing and collaboration during the rescue mission, felicitated with the victims for their release, giving them assurance that all those behind the acts will be arrested and dragged to court.
