Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala has won the 2023 CAF Women’s Player of the year award.
The Nigeria Super Falcons forward has now won the award for the record of sixth time.
Oshoala beat the duo of South Africa’s Thembi Kgathlana and Zambia’s Barbara Banda to win the prize.
Apart from her outstanding performance with the Super Falcons at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, She also played a key role in FC Barcelona’s femeni success in Europe as they won their second UEFA Women’s Champions League title.
Oshoala also won the league title with the Barcelone femeni team scoring 21 goals in 28 games, a goal better than the previous season.
She now holds the record of the award more than anybody both in the male and female categories.
Another Super Falcons legend Perpetua Nkwocha has won the award four times.
Oshoala won the award in 2014 ,2016, 2017, 2019, 2022 and now 2023
