The wife of the president and the First Lady has sent message of apology to Nigerian people for the poor economic situation and lack of security witnessed under the Buhari government.
“The regime might not have been a perfect one, but I want to seize this opportunity to seek forgiveness from the Ulamas and Nigerians,” she said.
The wife of the president was among eminent personalities who attended the prayer and lecture for the 62nd Independence Day which till place at the National Mosque Conference Hall, Abuja, the nation’s capital.
President Muhammadu Buhari was represented by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan.
The wife of the Nigerian leader implored Nigerians to pray for a peaceful transfer of power after the 2023 general elections.
“This government is making its exit and witnessing the last anniversary of the regime, I ask Nigerians to pray for a successful election.”
She commended the security architecture for making sacrifice and efforts in the combat against kidnapping, terrorism and others.
