Again, EFCC arrests ex-NDDC MD, Nsima Ekere, over N47b fraud
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, reportedly arrested Nsima Ekere, a former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Nsima was arrested for allegedly diverting funds worth N47 billion using registered contractors of the agency.
This was revealed by the spokesperson of the commission, Wilson Uwajaren, who confirmed the development to Channels Television.
Nsima was the Managing Director of the agency between 2016 and 2018.
The 56-year-old ran for governorship on the platform of ruling, All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom in the 2019 election.
Recall that the accountant general of the federation, Ahmed Idris was, a few days ago, arrested by the anti graft agency over alleged N80billion fraud.
