8 persons injured, 2 die in Niger auto crash

Two persons have lost their lives, while eight persons others have sustained various degrees of injuries in an auto crash.

The accident occurred, Monday at Malam Tanko village on the Abuja-Kaduna Highway.

Report has it that twenty-four other passengers who were involved in the accident escaped the tragedy.

An articulated vehicle and two commercial buses were involved in the auto crash.

Mr Kumar Tsukwam, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Niger, told newsmen on Tuesday that there were 34 passengers in the commercial vehicles.

“Corpses of the dead were taken to the morgue at Sabon Wuse General Hospital, Niger, where the injured also received treatment.

“The vehicles were handed over to the police at Tafa,’’ he said.

The sector commander of the FRSC put the blame of the accident on over speeding and loss of control of motorists.

Tsukwam has sent message of advice to motorists to always exercise patience, caution and obey the rules and regulations of the traffic to to avoid auto crashes.
