According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), two persons have been confirmed dead and six others sustained injury in three separate car crashes that happened along the Gombe by-pass towards the Pantami community on Friday.
Felix Theman, the FRSC Commander in Gombe State Command, made this revelation in an interview with newsmen on Saturday.
Theman revealed that the suspected causes of the accidents which involved one vehicle, one truck, and one motorcycle were overloading, speeding and faulty vehicles.
He said those who sustained various degrees of injury had been hospitalized for medical attention, while the dead bodies of those that lost their lives had been moved to the mortuary.
Theman revealed that the areas where the crashes occurred were built-up areas that were full of people.
The commander also said that in one of the auto crashes, a motorcyclist was with three passengers, “this is unacceptable and that’s why we have been sensitising them but some will just not listen.”
Theman revealed that additional patrol motors and officials would be mobilized to those affected areas which had been recording series of crashes.
He added that “we must avoid whatever willl lead to crashes and be careful especially now that the Ember months are here.”
