Three men, Mathew Angi, Samson Ope, and Moses Bitrus, on Wednesday appeared in an Abuja Court, Abuja for allegedly constituting nuisance.
39 year old Ope, 31 year old Angi, and 22 year old Bitrus have been charged with constituting nuisance.
Mr Olanrewaju Osho, who’s the Prosecution Counsel, informed the court that the defendants carried out the offence on October 4, in Nyanya area of Abuja.
Osho revealed that a patrol team of officers connected to the Nyanya Police Station, apprehended the defendants while roaming about black spots in the area.
He added that during police investigation, the defendants could not make explanation for their reason for roaming about the black spot on that day.
The prosecutor also said the offence was in contravention of Section 199 of the Penal Code.
When the matter was read to them, the defendant 1, Ope, pleaded not guilty, while the remaining two defendants pleaded guilty to the charge.
Malam Hassan Mohammed, who presided over the matter admitted the 1st defendant to bail in the sum of N20, 000 plus a surety in like sum, who must reside within the jurisdiction of the court.
Mohammed further ordered that the surety must make presentation of a valid means of identification and address which would be subjected to the verification of and deposited with the court.
Mohammed has sentenced the 2nd and 3rd defendants to two months imprisonment respectively, plus an option to make a payment of N5,000 fine.
He has therefore adjourned the matter until November 9 for further mention.
