Following their acceptance as one of the hosting countries of the first ever cross continental world cup in 2030, Morroco has revealed plans to build a world class stadium.
This was disclosed by the Morroco Prime Minister office last Friday.
The Stadium is expected to be the third largest in the world with 113, 000 capacity and will be build near Benslimane city of Casablanca.
Also, the preparation will also see the north American side who have recorded hugest success in their football outings lately upgrade six others in preparation for the mundial.
The deal to finance the new Stadium was signed between government and state-owned fund CDG to finance and is expected to be ready by 2028.
Official statement said it will cost of 5 billion dirhams ($500 million).
Other six stadiums to be renovated for the hosting of the African cup of nations in 2025 and the 2030 World Cup- are in the cities of Agadir, Casablanca Fez, Marrakech, Rabat and Tangier, it said.
Earlier this month, FIFA, the world football governing body unprecedentedly chose Morocco, Spain and Portugal to co-host the 2030 world cup.
Meanwhile it stated that Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay would host three matches to mark the tournament’s centenary.
Morocco will be the second African country to host the World Cup after South Africa in 2010.
