The Head Coach of the Nigeria flying Eagles, Ladan Bosso has expressed his optimism that the team will bounce back from the defeat to Senegal at the ongoing U-20 AFCON in Egypt.
Bosso spoke at a press conference on Tuesday ahead of their second group match against Host country, Egypt on Wednesday.
The flying Eagles lost their opener to Senegal 0-1 on Sunday and have to win Egypt if they are to remain in the competition.
“We prepared very well to face the Egyptian national team. As coaches, we know how to deal with the loss and overcome it, and we are ready for the Egypt match” he said.
“The fans are important, but the fans do not win the matches. We saw during the World Cup Qatar were playing at home, but they were unable to advance to the next round.”
Despite the loss to Senegal, Bosso and his boys shoulder the quest of Nigeria to claim the title for the record of Eighth time ,having won seven times in the past.
Nigeria won the tournament in 1983, 1985, 1987, 1989, 2005, 2011, and 2015.
The country finished as runners-up in 1999, and 2007, and secured a bronze-medal finish in 1995, 2009, and 2013.
