2027: Rivers PDP NASS caucus endorses Tinubu’s re-election

Members of the Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus in the National Assembly have officially declared their support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027. The announcement was made during a statement read by Senator Barry Mpigi in Port Harcourt on Saturday.

Comprising two Senators and seven House of Representatives members, the caucus expressed that their endorsement stems from the visible successes of Tinubu’s agenda, which they believe is “working and on course.” The members include Senator Barry Mpigi, Senator Allwell Onyesoh, and Representatives Dumnamene Dekor, Solomon Bob, Felix Nwaeke, Kelechi Nwogu, Cyril Hart, Victor Obuzor, and Blessing Amadi.

The caucus urged individuals aspiring for the presidency in the upcoming general election to reconsider their ambitions, emphasizing the positive impact of Tinubu’s economic policies aimed at revitalizing the nation’s struggling economy.

In their statement, they expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his trust in Rivers State’s leader, Nyesom Wike, following Wike’s appointment as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. The lawmakers commended the president’s acknowledgment of Wike’s performance, referring to him as the “Master of Infrastructure.”

After reviewing the president’s economic strategies, which focus on addressing the country’s financial challenges and infrastructure deficits, the caucus concluded that Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda represents the best path forward for Nigeria’s economic recovery. They noted early signs of improvement, including decreasing inflation rates and a reduction in foreign debt.

The caucus also thanked Tinubu for his prompt intervention in addressing the political crisis in Rivers State, highlighting his efforts toward establishing lasting peace.

They reaffirmed their commitment to mobilizing support for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, drawing on their previous successes. Additionally, they called on all Nigerians to back the Renewed Hope Agenda as the key to the nation’s prosperity and urged potential presidential candidates to support Tinubu in his re-election bid.
