Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on Thursday, approved the resumption of non-contact sporting activities in the State as part of the gradual easing of COVID-19 restrictions.
AbdulRazaq, according to a statement issued by his spokesperson, Rafiu Ajakaye, disclosed this while hosting the President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick, and members of his entourage, who paid him a courtesy visit shortly before the inauguration of Nigeria’s first football house in Ilorin.
The football house which is aimed at creating an enabling sporting environment for the young talents was constructed by the Kwara State Football Association with the financial support of the AbdulRazaq administration and Barrister A.U Mustapha SAN – an Ilorin-born football enthusiast who is a member of the NFF and the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
AbdulRazaq however expressed his appreciation to the President and other members of NFF for their patriotism and support to the Kwara state government.
The chairman of Kwara Football Association, Abdullahi Idris, for his part, appreciated the NFF for facilitating the building from Aiteo and thanked the state government for continuous support to the sports sector.
