President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday met with the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele at the State House in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
The Informant247 observes that this would be first public appearance of the CBN boss since his return to the country from annual vacation.
The Informant247 recalls that the CBN chief has been subject of contention ever since the surface of allegations of terrorism financing and corruption against him.
While receiving the governor of the apex bank of the country, President Buhari said, “You are welcome back”.
The CBN boss, however, did not address journalists after the meeting.
As earlier reported by The Informant247, the Department of State Services (DSS), on Monday, dismissed the rumour that it invaded the office of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
The spokesperson of the DSS, Peter Afunanya, made this revelation in a statement.
He said the security agency did not arrest the Governor of CBN, Godwin Emefiele.
Reacting to the rumour of the invasion of the apex bank in the country, the spokesperson of the secret police described it as misleading and fake.
The Informant247 also reported that a sociopolitical commentator, Reno Omokri has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of preventing the Department of State Services, DSS, from manhandling the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele.
He said the DSS acted on the instruction of the president, as they could not manhandle the CBN chief at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
He said the president deserves kudos for enabling the prevalence of rule of law in the country.
The sociopolitical commentator sarcastically revealed that the president did well.
