The Nigerian Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, has debunked the news that he was planning to appeal the judgement of the Federal High Court Damaturu, which invalidates his senatorial candidacy.
The president of the senate has through a statement released by Ola Awoniyi, his media aide, described the news as ‘utter falsehood’.
“It is just another fabrication by the discredited habitual purveyor of fake and malicious news – Sahara Reporters”, the statement further said.
The statement also revealed that if anybody is not comfortable with the development and decides to appeal the judgment of the Federal High Court, it is not connected with the personality of the Senate President.
“For the umpteenth time, we want to emphasize that the Senate President has no intention to appeal against the court judgement”, the statement emphasized.
The statement noted that the Senate President has made his own opinion known and has decided to moved on. “He is a man of his words”.
The statement implores members of the public to disregard the report as fake ones nothing other than the contempt it deserves.
The Informant247 recalls that the Yobe State chapter of the APC reportedly made a vow to appeal the judgement of the Federal High Court, which announced Bashir Machina as the Senatorial candidate of Yobe North.
