Mallam Saliu Mustapha

The family of the Kwara-based Islamic cleric, late Sheikh Abdulganiy Aboto, has said that the Turaki of Ilorin, Malam Saliu Mustapha, has fulfilled his promise as he approved funds for the family of the late Sheikh.

This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen by Ibn Abdillah As-sudaisiy Al-Iloori.

The statement revealed that the representatives of the family of the deceased Sheikh, on Friday, 8th October, 2022, paid a “thank you visit” to Malam Mustapha, to discuss the modalities for the execution of the promises of the Turaki of Ilorin.

The statement also partly reads: “I am pleased to inform you that the first leg of the pledges have been duly redeemed as the respective families concerned (wives of Sheikh Aboto and the families of the two other brothers) have been credited with the approved funds to empower and support the families as promised.”

“As usual, we have been asked not to disclose the sum credited by the donor to the families for the sake of the sanctity and privacy of the families.”

The statement further added that a few agreements have been made with the Turaki, to implement the kind gesture.

The agreements between the family of the late Sheikh and the team of the House of Representatives candidate, were as follows:

“1. The families have identified their preferred locations and specifications for the apartments to be secured.”

“2. The stated preferences of the family as communicated to the team of the donor (the details are not for public consumption) have slightly affected their original plan, which has necessitated a fresh search for the preferred locations and taste.”

“3. By all standards, the representatives of the family are satisfied with the good faith of the donor and we trust the ability of his team to deliver on the housing aspect.”

The statement also warned members of the public to desist from making comments and opinions inimical to the development of the status quo.

“Opinion leaders, commentators and members of the public are implored to allow the process to be taken to logical conclusion before jumping into conclusions. I saw some posts on social media that were very disappointing. Some people are saying the house pledge was a scam. I can say categorically that we are on course on the project and there is nothing fraudulent about the pledge. This is why this update becomes necessary in order to clear all doubts. We pursing other pledges too from other dignitaries and we are hopeful they will be redeemed in sha Allāh.”

“We urge brothers and sisters in Islam to help us protect the sanctity and privacy of the families Sheikh Abdulganiy Aboto left behind.”

The statement also promised to give time to time updates to members of the public as events unfold.

“We will keep the public updated as events unfold in sha Allāh for transparency sake.”

In the meeting were AbdulHafiz Abdulganiy-Aboto (the first son of Sheikh Aboto) and Ustadh Kamil AbdulKareem Al-Adabiy.

While at the side of the Turaki of Ilorin, were Prince Olatunji Buhari and others.
