The Association of Public Procurement Practitioners of Nigeria has given the Yobe government the best state award of the Due Process and Good Governance.
This was revealed in a statement released by Mr Mamman Mohammed, the Director-General, Press and Media Affairs to Gov. Mai Mala Buni on Saturday.
He also disclosed that the association has approved government transactions under state government administration as more accountable and transparent one.
The aide of the governor revealed that the association thanked the state governor for enabling a conducive social atmosphere for the state’s Public Procurement Bureau to operate without intimidation.
He said the Association also gave honour to the Bureau in acknowledgement of its non- intimidating posture in awarding project and contract execution.
The state Commissioner for Justice, Mr Saleh Samanja, who represented the governor, said that, “this is quite encouraging.
“This award will encourage Gov. Buni and the government of Yobe to intensify due process in government transactions and projects.
“We also have a very efficient and effective Bureau of Public Procurement that ensures strict compliance to due process.
“The excellent leadership provided by the governor has made governance responsive, accountable and transparent”.
