Xmas: Youngest Commissioner, Kolo preaches peace, distributes Xmas largesse at Koro-afoju

The Kwara Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Miss Joana Nnazua Kolo has rejoiced with Christian believers on the celebration of Christmas.

The young commissioner, in a press statement released by her media aide charged the Christians to embrace love and peace, which are the characteristics Christmas celebration.

She said it is important to use the festive period to reach out to the less-privileged, who would also love to celebrate the Christmas but are financially incapacitated.

“The birth of Jesus Christ signifies love and peace and that’s why I want people to celebrate the Christmas with love and peace, by reaching out to the less-privileged in the community,” she added.

In a show of charity, the youngest commissioner in the history of Nigeria also reached out to the people of blind colony (Koroafoju) in Ilorin where she gave away some items.

The Commissioner, who was in company of Mrs Funmi Omisope, the Executive Director of the Home Street Kids Initiative (HSKIT), visited the colony of the blind beggars (Koroafoju), where she showed them love by sharing Christmas gifts to them.

Their leader, the Sarkin Makafi, Sanni Mohammed, in appreciation, prayed for the commissioner and thanked the state governor, for finding colony worthy of infrastructures such as portable water and good road network.

He also urged the Kolo to always follow the footsteps of governor AbdulRazaq, whom he described as a pathfinder.

Recall that the commissioner in her charitable gesture had visited an orphanage few months ago, where she shouldered the responsibilities of two months old baby dumped by her parents.
