Vice President is dead
The vice president of Gambia, Badara Joof, has been reported dead.
The sad development was confirmed by President Adama Barrow, through his official Twitter page, Wednesday morning.
The Informant247 gathered that the deceased VP gave up the ghost in India where he’s receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness.
The president condoled with the people of the country over the passing of the number two citizen of the country, wishing the deceased Jannahtul Firdawsi.
Barrow tweeted: “Fellow #Gambians, it is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing away of my #VicePresident, His Excellency, Badara Alieu Joof. The sad event took place in India after a short illness. May Allah grant him Jannahtul Firdawsi.”
The Gambian government has not given update about the illness that caused the death of the country’s VP.
