Over the years, there have been issues of female students being harassed for sex in return for marks in various Nigerian Universities.
Sex-for-mark practice is a common problem among lecturers in Nigerian institutions, which has over the years been encouraged by managements of Nigerian universities due to their failure to appropriately sanction erring lecturers.
It should be recalled that few years ago, a former Head of English department, University of Ilorin, Dr. Sani Idiagbon was reportedly exposed as a tape of his sexual misconduct and harassment of a female student went viral. The University will later announced his suspension.
