The Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Calabar, Prof Cyril Ndifon, has responded to accusations of sexual harassment made by female law students.
Following allegations of sexual harassment, a group of students organized a demonstration on campus, demanding that Ndifon step down.
They marched together and carried signs with messages such as “Ndifon Must Go!” and “Prof Ndifon, let the girls with big bre***s breathe, stop suffocating us!!!”
However, in an interview with CrossRiverWatch, Ndifon denied the allegations, stating that the protest was orchestrated by individuals within the faculty who held a grudge against him.
He asserted that the accusations were fabricated to tarnish his reputation and were part of an ongoing campaign to undermine his position.
Ndifon questioned the credibility of the allegations, emphasizing that he did not teach the students who were making the claims.
He also challenged the absence of specific victims coming forward to report instances of harassment.
He stated, “For Christ’s sake, I don’t teach Year 2 B or Year one students, so I don’t know why they have chosen to drag my name to the mud.
This was why I said earlier that the allegations were lies, cooked from the pit of hell, just to destroy a reputation that I had spent decades building.”
The Dean maintained that his detractors were attempting to ruin his reputation due to his success in faculty elections and that he would not let their efforts succeed.
In response, the students who made the allegations continue to demand a thorough investigation into their claims, arguing that their voices must be heard and that justice should prevail.
