A 24 year old unemployed man, Francis Adakole, appeared in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan on Wednesday.
He appeared in court for allegedly stealing a wristwatch, a cell phone and gold chain worth N3.9 million.
Adakole whose address of residence was not disclosed has been charged by the police with conspiracy, theft and house breaking.
Insp Toyin Ibrahim, who’s the Prosecution Counsel, informed the court that the defendant allegedly carried out the offence on October 9, at about 10. 30 a.m, at Harmony Estate, Elebu area, Ibadan.
The Prosecution Counsel, alleged that the Adakole and others at large, illegally invaded the house of Abdulwasiu Olagoke and illegally took away watch, a gold chain, and phone worth N3,900, 000.
The prosecution Counsel alleged that the defendant also illegally took away the Nissan Almera car, belonging to the claimant and worth N1. 9million.
He added that the offence was in contravention of the provisions of sections 516, 411 and 390(9) of the criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.
When the case was read to the defendant, he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Mrs Abimbola Amole-Ajimoti, who’s the Magistrate, gave the defendant the sum of N500, 000 bail with two sureties in like sum.
She has adjourned the matter until Jan. 12 for hearing.
