Nigeria’s flying Eagles will lock horns with their counterpart from Italy later today in their second match of the Group D games at the ongoing FIFA world cup in Argentina.

The match will take place at the Estadio Malvinas Argentina in Mendoza, Argentina as both teams eye qualification to the round of 16.

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles came from a goal down to defeat the Dominican Republic 2-1 in their first game.

Italy, on the other hand edged Brazil 3-2 in a five goal thriller match.

A win for either of the side today will see them picking up the round of 16 ticket.

Speaking ahead of the game, Flying Eagles Coach Ladan Bosso said his boys are ready to deal with the Italians in the match.

He noted that the team has learnt a lot from their last game and while saying that respect will be shown to their opponent, he was quick to say that his boys do not fear any team at the championship.

“We stayed back after our match against the Dominican Republic to watch the Italy match against Brazil, and we took a lot of notes from there. The Italians have the midfield machinery to outrun any team that is flustered by their pace and organization, but we will know how to deal with that.

“We have the boys who can neutralize their mortal armoury and deliver some blows of our own. Wednesday’s encounter will be interesting. We will respect them but we don’t fear any team at this championship”. Bosso said.

Nigeria has finished second in the U20 World Cup twice, first in 1989 and most recently in 2005.

However, in each of their past three tournament appearances, they have been ousted in the round of 16
