Toni Kroos has taken a swipe at his former team-mate Eden Hazard, claiming that the Belgian’s move to Madrid was motivated by urge money.

Hazard joined Real Madrid for a fee around £88 million from Chelsea in 2019 and earned £400,000-per-week at the LaLiga.

Kroos while speaking on his podcast Einfach mal Luppen noted that the move basically affected the Belgian whose four year spell in Spain was underwhelming.

He made the comment while firing a warning to Jude Bellingham after his stunning six-year move to the Bernabeu was confirmed on Wednesday.

Hazard at 32, had announced his retirement from international football after Belgium’s 2022 World Cup campaign.

“We had another player who came for a lot of money and basically let his career die.It was a lot of money, I think everyone would say that wasn’t a good transfer. But let’s be positive.” the German quipped.

Kroos racked up three LaLiga titles and four Champions League trophies during his nine-year spell at Real Madrid.

Hazard scored only seven goals in 76 appearances for Real Madrid.
