Consequently to the incident of Saturday where fans of Kano Pillars wreck havoc on the team’s bus of Katsina United, the League Management Company(LMC) has hammered heavy sanctions on Kano Pillars FC.
The Informant247 had earlier reported how the North West derby between Kano Pillars and Katsina United went sour on Saturday when the match was temporarily stopped and fans of the homeside destroying a coaster bus belonging to the visitors.
In a swift reaction to the incident, LMC, has among many other punishments slammed a fine of 9 million naira on Kano Pillars for breaching the NPFL Rules.
While the team is now banished to Moshood Abiola National stadium in Abuja for their home game henceforth, the sanctions also include Three points deduction from already accrued points of Pillars.
The LMC in the statement released on Sunday night placed a ban on the Sanni Abacha stadium Kano from hosting NPFL games forthwith and directed Kano Pillars to repair and replace damaged Katsina United FC team bus.
According to the release, the match, which was stopped at 82nd minutes will now be concluded in Abuja.
The game on Saturday was the first time the Kano State-owned team will be making a return back to home after two years.
Among many other reasons, the team was kept away from their homeground due to the usage of the facility as the COVID-19 isolation centre.
While they had to play the whole of last season at their adopted home of Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna, the Sai Masu Gida boys after a breach of the league rules in a match against Rivers United in the current season were again banished to Muhammed Dikko Stadium in Katsina.
Kano Pillars currently occupies 16th position on the log with 23 points.
